Ron Ritchie | B.Sc., (HONS), D.M.D.

Ron grew up in New England on the East Coast of the United States. He immigrated to Vancouver Canada in 1965 and attended the University of British Columbia where he obtained his B.Sc. (1970) and D.M.D. (1977) degrees. He married a lovely Kiwi girl and immigrated with his young family to the paradise of New Zealand in 1989 and has raised 3 boys and a girl.

When he is not in the clinic you will often find him on the Narrows Golf course trying to preserve his single digit handicap or on his boat in the Mercury Islands or off the Raglan coast fishing with his family and friends. He has thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of his long career in Dentistry engaging in the disciplines and varied aspects of prevention, restorative, periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.

With the advent of younger dentists joining the practice he now has the opportunity to pursue what he has enjoyed the most during his 37 years of practice and that is working with young children and adolescents. He has been working in the field of Myofunctional, Orthopaedic and Orthodontic treatment modalities for excess of 36 years. More recently Ron has pursued further training in sleep disorders and growth and development.

He continues to enjoy and accrue many hours in excess of minimum requirements of continued education here in New Zealand as well as overseas.
